Main Library Feasibility Study Community Workshop

6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Oakland Asian Cultural Center

Description

Join us for our second community workshop for the Oakland Main Library Feasibility Study! We’ll be gathering valuable input from you on the programs and services that residents would like to see at the library.

The Feasibility Study team will share an overview of the feasibility study, why it's happening, and the goals of the project. The workshop will serve as a way for the community to organize and build power around a collective vision. We will be conducting an interactive exercise around “The Main Library Experience” prompted by a series of questions. We want to know:

  • How can we create an experience at the Main Library that represents Oakland’s authentic identity?
  • How can you find and/or support your community?
  • What are some of the reasons you don't use the library and what would make you use the library more? We will also have a video station where participants can leave their responses to the question, “That would be cool if…”
  • How do you want to feel when you walk into the library?

This workshop will be fun and interactive so don't miss this opportunity to share your thoughts about how the Oakland Main Library can better serve our community!

Dinner will be served so please RSVP to reserve your spot.
