Do you want to learn more about the Oakland Public Library's historic newspaper collections? Come and get an overview of the different types of newspaper collections in the library and the many ways to search them. Learn to search newspaper clippings, microfilm, indexes, and databases in both the Oakland History Center and the Magazine & Newspaper Department.
We'll start in the Oakland History Center at 2:00, then head down the hall to the Magazine & Newspaper Department.
This event is open to all, and is great preparation for anyone who is planning to make an entry for our "All the News That's Fit to Build" diorama exhibit this fall. Ask for more information about the exhibit and entry guidelines in the Oakland History Center or the Magazine & Newspaper Department.
Stay after the program to get started on your search!
