The world's greatest adventure story is now the source of the epic film from Christopher Nolan. Long considered the world's greatest adventure story, The Odyssey recounts the arduous struggles of a man who seeks to reunite with his family in ancient Greece. After the ten-year Trojan war, the heroic King Odysseus begins his ten-year journey home to Ithaca, where his wife, Penelope, and son, Telemachus, await his return. Along his travels, Odysseus encounters the nymph Calypso, the witch-goddess Circe, the six-headed monster Scylla, and the sea monster Charybdis. Originally meant to be heard rather than read, this great epic-translated by Samuel Butler-is now the source of a film by Oscar-winning director Christopher Nolan.
